The Backsaver BRL Barrel Tipper is designed to lift and tip barrels, drums and other cylinder-shaped containers at worktable height.

The BRL is a compact and mobile solution for handling barrels containing products such as intestines, vegetables, pickled products, sauces or other ingredients. The standard machine handles loads up to 400 kg, provides a dumping height of approximately 970 mm and has a standard tipping angle of 100 degrees. A larger tipping angle or discharge height can be supplied depending on your application.

Improved process: Easy barrel handling

Backsavers are simple, easy-to-use machines that enhance production and reduce the risk of workplace injury. For convenient operation, the BRL is equipped with independent controls on both sides of the machine.

The barrel is slid onto the platform and can then be moved around the facility to wherever the product needs to be emptied. Once in position, the barrel is smoothly tipped to the required angle, reducing manual lifting, bending and handling of heavy barrels.

Depending on your application, the BRL can be used to empty products onto worktables, into other containers or directly into processing equipment.

Built around your barrel and process

Barrels and drums come in many different shapes and sizes, so we can customize the BRL around the container used in your production process.

An optional stainless-steel roller platform makes loading and positioning barrels easier. We can also increase the dumping height, increase the tipping angle or replace the standard

retaining bar with retaining tabs along the discharge chute when this better suits your barrel and product.

Powerful rechargeable battery

The BRL is powered by a rechargeable battery as standard, allowing it to be used throughout the work floor without being tied to a fixed power supply.

The battery is suitable for operation in refrigerated areas and the machine can be plugged in overnight for re-charging. With a fully charged battery, you can handle approximately 30 tons of products.

For stationary applications, we can also supply the BRL with mains power instead of battery power.

Operational safety: Gravity lowering and sound alarm

The BRL is driven by a hydraulic cylinder and for safety, it uses gravity for the lowering movement.

Hold-to-run up- and down-buttons keep the movement under the operator’s control. An audible backup signal warns people nearby when the machine is moving.

Hygiene and food safety

Backsavers are developed especially for the food industry. They are made of stainless steel for easy and hygienic cleaning and are suitable for high-pressure wash-down.

The BRL has been engineered, designed and manufactured in the Netherlands since 2003.
